What a photograph cannot tell you

Weight, balance, and whether a glaze looks cheap in daylight.

How we work

Handle it, and hear the honest version

Online listings are optimised to flatter. A bowl photographs identically whether it weighs enough to feel considered or not, and a glaze that looks deep under studio lighting can look flat on a kitchen table. Picking the thing up resolves in two seconds what a hundred reviews cannot.

The honest version includes the inconvenient parts. Handmade ceramics vary piece to piece, linen shrinks on a first wash and creases permanently, and natural wood moves. None of those are faults, and all of them produce disappointed customers when nobody mentions them in advance.

The last thing is the return policy, which in Florida is the customer's only real protection. A retailer here may refuse refunds entirely so long as the policy is displayed — so where it is displayed tells you something. Ours sits on the counter and prints on the receipt before payment.
